Alright, here’s the deal. We started Rock River Door Co. back in 2008 after spending years working for another door company. We were the lead commercial techs, and while we loved the work, we couldn’t stand how things were run in the office. Customers would see us putting in three hours of solid work, then get slapped with a bill for six. That wasn’t on us, but we knew it wasn’t right. So, after a lot of encouragement from our commercial clients, we decided to take the leap and start our own thing.
From the get-go, we had a truck, our license, and insurance—and we hit the ground running. We reached out to all those commercial contacts we’d built over the years, and they jumped on board immediately. We’ve been growing ever since, and now we’re a solid team of five, delivering the same quality work that got me started in the first place.
We’re not just another company passing through town. We were born and raised right here in Rockton, IL. This isn’t just where we work; it’s where we live, shop, and spend our weekends. Our customers are our neighbors, and that’s how we treat them. We’re not here to cut corners or upsell you on stuff you don’t need. We do quality work at a fair price, period.
We don’t play games when it comes to service. We do the job right the first time, and we stand by our work. Our team is expertly trained and is now passing on that knowledge to the next generation of installers. We’re not the cheapest out there—there’s always going to be someone willing to underbid with a beat-up truck and no overhead. But once you work with us, you’ll see the difference. Our customers stick with us because they know we’ve got their back.
Looking ahead, we’re planning to scale the business over the next few years. The goal is to grow three or four times the size we are now, bring on more full-time techs, and eventually sell to private equity. We never thought about selling before, but now we see the potential to take what we’ve built and make it even bigger. But no matter how much we grow, we’ll always be the same local business that started here in Rockton, IL.
